National Cohousing Summit 2026 Recap

A few weeks ago, I posted my last blog post (quarterly western WA housing update) while sitting in the Seattle airport waiting to fly home after the one-day National Cohousing Alliance’s annual summit. This year, it was held at the College for Built Environments at the University of Washington campus in Seattle. I used to live a “short” (depending on traffic) drive from there, but to attend this summit while living in Spokane now meant at least 10 hours of driving and at least one overnight stay. I was thinking I could swing that, until I accidently said yes to visiting family that same weekend, while already feeling all-in on attending the summit. After much deliberation, and support from my entrepreneurial family members, I found a ticket (ON SALE! $125!) for a round trip leaving 5am and coming home at 9:30pm. I could do that.

I didn’t have time right after the summit to do a proper recap, so I continued my conversations and relationships afterward (and still working on it!) as my business picked up. Now that I’m preparing for real time out of town, I’m reflecting on my spring so far and realizing the cohousing summit was one of my biggest highlights from the first half of 2026. So I want to give it proper acknowledgement, if for no one other than me, as a reminder that I love this work. I could see both my progress over the past few years as well as where the next few years of my career and life could go.
